Means and Percentages

If the population Mean is 150 and the Standard Deviation is 30, what percentage of the population falls between 105 and 195?

  1. According to the table given out in class, the area from the mean to 1.5 Standard Deviations is .4332 Because it is 1.5 Standard Deviations from the mean on both sides, we must multiply this by two to get .8664

To convert this into percentages, we must multiply by 100 to get 86.64%
